Ice walking
The lake ice is thick enough to walk on,
And the air is thin enough to see beyond
to Mt. Greylock's whale-like white crest.

I'm ice-walking through a winter day of still-life poetry;
A million marks—a universe—in the track-crossed snow tell the story.
Save for the breath of a background swooooosh

. . . all is at rest.
