Orange moon,

Marigold wafer of stunning

radiance—

In silent gentle authority

you cast your sunlit grace

on the watery landscape below.

In the twilight periwinkled-void

of pure sky you rest,

framed left in the rectangular

canvas of the tripartite sight;

Ocean band of gray, fifth part along

the bottom edge, supports your

cratered Galilean haloed light . . .

Suspended in the easeled structure

of an ocean night.

I see your diagonal reflection

on the rippled surface

muddled pristine and faint—

Cold salt-air and sounds of waves

are in the mix but it's

the picture of seamless

atmospheric

minmalist

purity

that I want to paint!
