HILDNER is an architect, painter, and writergraphic artist, photographer,
visual consultant, and musician. In addition to producing a wide spectrum of works
under his own name, he also writes criticism and theory as pen name Madison Gray,
crafts screenplays (and designs books) as pseudonym Eliot Plum, and paints as
alias Henry Trucks. Hildners work on architecture and painting has appeared
in many publications, including Global
Architecture Houses, Architectural Record, ANY,
Oz, ARTnews, The Christian Science Monitor, and the refereed Journal
of Architectural Education. As an educator, he received the national
award for teaching excellence from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture.
His project Dante|Telescope House won the Blue Ribbon Award for Design
Excellence from the New Jersey chapter of The American Institute of Architects.
His screenplay Trust No One, co-written with Marilyn Jones, won second place in
the 2009 Telluride Screenwriting Competition. A licensed architect since 1983,
HILDNER established his professional practice under the name The Architect Painter
in 1999 and founded Cinematect
Studios in 2002. In 2005, he launched The Architect
Painter Press, which has released five publications to date:
GARCHES 1234, PICASSO
LESSONS, DAEDALUS
9, and HENRY
TRUCKS PAINTER, and ALL-NIGHTER-WRITER.
HILDNER studied at Princeton, graduating magna cum laude then earning his M.Arch.
He founded The Architect Painter Press in 2005. He currently serves as creative
director, designer, senior writer and editor for the weekly magazine the Christian
Science Sentinel and the monthly magazine The Christian Science Journal,
periodicals for which he has written over 200 articles about the theory and practice
of spiritual metaphysics.
